Help Center

The TWERQ Hive is people working together in real-time to find and share relevant results. Users collaborate relevant information they find to what is called a "Hive List". This Hive List is a collection of various forms of information such as web results, images, rss feeds, stories and videos. This allows everyone to collectively find what they are looking for faster. It also helps people who search for the same information in the future.

Ranking of Hived results is determined based on hive activity and user feedback, both assisted by a unique scoring algorithm. Participation features of the hive are opt-in only. If you do not wish to collaborate anything you can take on more of a spectator role an watch relevant information appears before you eyes as it is collaborated.

Joining or Creating a Hive
Simply search as you normally would. On the right side of your results you will noticed a TWERQ Hive panel. If there are people collaborating for that search term you will see a message stating the number of collaborators and the option to "Join this Hive". If there are no collaborators you click Create Hive to create one. You can also join or create hives by using the Hive Q-Trigger h: followed by the search term. By clicking this link your Hive Panel will change. You will see a breakdown down of information types and number of results. You will also see a small tabbed panel below with a Related and QuickTag tab. The related tab displays links to searches that have be related by users. Clicking on any of the related searches will open that search in a new tab. The QuickTags tab lists QuickTags that have been collaborated to that hive. A description can be viewed when you hover over the link and clicking it will add it to your QuickTag Bar for immediate access.

Private Hives
In some cases you may want to create a private hive for you, your family, friends and colleagues. This gives you the ability to collaborate with your group without out any outside interference. Creating a Private Hive is very similar to creating a public hive. You are required to provide a username and password so that you can access and moderate your private hive. Then you can invite people to join your hive and give them password access.

Relating & Unrelating Searches
To relate one search to another you must first join a hive. Once you are in a hive continue searching as you normally would. As you come across searches you feel are related to the hive you have joined, select the hive and click on the comb in the tab list drop down beside the search you wish to relate. To unrelate a search click the same comb off.

Collaborating Results, Images, Feeds, Stories & Video
By joining the hive you activate the TWERQ Feedback Bar for that particular search. Any results you click on will display the feedback bar along the top of the visited website simply asking "Is this relevant Yes | No ?". Clicking yes will collaborate that result to the Hive List. Clicking "No" or closing the feedback bar will leave that result off the Hive List. The Feedback Bar will follow you through out any searches you relate to that hive. Giving you the ability to collaborate results from other search terms that could be just as if not more relevant. If you are a TWERQ2GO member you can collaborate your shortlist itself or export the listings directly to any hive list.

Collaborating & Sharing QuickTags
QuickTags can be shared through the QuickTag Depot or collaborated to any hive. This allows users to share both general purpose and more specific Quicktags. To share or collaborate a QuickTag, open your TWERQ settings panel. You will see a share button with a down arrow on the right hand side of the QuickTag listing. This will drop down a menu that displays a description box and a list of all open searches if any as well as a permanent listing called QuickTag Depot. Before you can share or collaborate a quicktag you must first explain what the QuickTag is in a simple description then save your quicktag. To share or collaborate your QuickTag simply click the same drop down and click on the comb beside the tab listing or QuickTag Depot.

Hive List RSS Feed
Every hive streams it's own RSS feed so that people can search the hive using any RSS reader. It also allows developers to build applications using and accessing any hive information.

Importing Hive Lists as Shortlists
For TWERQ2GO members you can import any Hive List as a Shortlist so that you can personalize it and remove any undesired results.
